International Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials Conference Program Launches

The North American conference on powder metallurgy (PM) and particulate materials has launched its 2018 conference program for POWDERMET2018: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials. The conference will feature over 200 worldwide PM industry experts presenting on PM, particulate materials, and metal additive manufacturing at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Texas, June 17–20, 2018. AMPM2018 — Metal Additive Manufacturing Conference Program Launches

The program for the fifth annual Additive Manufacturing (AM) with Powder Metallurgy (PM) conference, AMPM2018, is available online and registration is now open. Featuring worldwide industry experts presenting on the latest developments in the fast-growing field of metal additive manufacturing, the conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, Texas, June 17–20, 2018. APMI International Names 2018 Fellows

APMI International's most prestigious award recognizes APMI members for their significant contributions to the goals, purpose, and mission of the organization as well as for a high level of expertise in the technology, practice, or business of the industry. The 2018 Fellow Award recipients will receive elevation to Fellow status at POWDERMET2018: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials during the Industry Luncheon on June 19. The 2018 recipients are Stephen Mashl and Alberto Molinari.

Registration Opens for 2018 Metal Injection Molding Conference

Registration has opened for MIM2018: International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides—the only international powder and metal injection molding conference of the year. To be held March 5–7, 2018, MIM2018 is a global conference and tabletop exhibition that highlights advances in the powder injection molding (PIM) industry. The conference will take place in Irvine, California, at the Hotel Irvine.

Alan Lawley—Distinguished PM Industry Professor

Alan Lawley, Emeritus Professor, Drexel University, died on October 17 at the age of 84. A long-time friend and supporter of PM technology and the industry, Lawley made significant contributions to research and development in PM and particulate materials and guided the professional development of undergrad and graduate PM students, many of whom are working in the industry today.
