Technical Programs Launch for PM, Metal AM, and Tungsten Conferences

The technical programs have been released for the co-located, global conference events of the year.

From June 27–July 1, 2020, join the powder metallurgy (PM) industry in Montréal, Canada, for over 185 hours of technical content at WorldPM2020, the World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials; AMPM2020, the Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference; and Tungsten2020, the International Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials Conference.

MIM2020 Concludes

MIM2020, International Conference on Injection Molding of Metals, Ceramics and Carbides, concluded in Irvine, California, last week. This year’s conference attracted 113 attendees representing 65 companies from 7 countries. This year, 23 presentations provided attendees with technology transfer on topics from MIM sintering to metal additive manufacturing, materials, and more. An additional 19 presentations were provided by representatives from exhibiting companies throughout the day, leading up to the Tabletop Exhibition and Reception.

Keynote Speaker Announced for WorldPM2020

Edwin Pope, principal analyst at IHS Markit has been selected as the keynote speaker for the global, co-located conferences WorldPM2020, AMPM2020, and Tungsten2020. From market-level volume impacts to powertrain and electrification trends, the outlook of the automotive industry and the potential cascading effects are numerous to the PM supply chain. During the Opening General Session on Sunday, June 28, 2020, Pope will discuss outlooks and trends for the global automotive market, propulsion system design, transmission design, electrification, and metal 3D printing within the automotive sector.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Randall M. German, FAPMI

Dr. Randall (Rand) German, FAPMI, founder of German Materials Technology, has been selected to receive the Kempton H. Roll Powder Metallurgy (PM) Lifetime Achievement Award by the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF). The award will be presented during WorldPM2020, World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, in Montreal, Canada, at the Opening General Session on Sunday, June 28.

APMI International Names 2020 Fellow

APMI International's most prestigious award recognizes APMI members for their significant contributions to the goals, purpose, and mission of the organization as well as for a high level of expertise in the technology, practice, or business of the industry. The 2020 Fellow Award recipient will receive elevation to Fellow status at WorldPM2020: World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, Montréal, Canada, during the Opening General Session on Sunday, June 28. The 2020 recipient is Thomas (Tom) Pelletiers II, VP new business development, Kymera International.
