Undergrad Designs Metal AM Adjustable Golf Putter

Caroline Means, an undergraduate in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University, has been working on a metal AM project that could make it easier to experiment with golf putters. The project’s goal is to allow golfers to adjust parts of their club to find a better stroke, rather than having to buy a new club. It also could help equipment manufacturers reimagine their prototyping and design process.

Denso Invests in Metal AM to Accelerate Development

Denso Corp., Southfield, Michigan, has invested in Seurat Technologies, Wilmington, Massachusetts, to speed up its manufacturing production rates. Seurat’s area printing technology focuses 2 million points of laser light on a bed on metal powder, each point individually adjustable for power and duration, to create net-shape metal components.

Welcome Back!

PowderMet2021, AMPM2021, and Tungsten2021 provided a much needed gathering place for professionals and students from every sector of the powder metallurgy community. The excitement of finally getting together again showed on all the smiling faces. Nearly 400 “in-person” delegates and over 100 “virtual” delegates took part in the hybrid event, held June 20-23 in Orlando. Delegates filtered into the ballroom to John Sebastian’s “Welcome Back” as they prepared for the Opening General Session’s jam-packed agenda. Executive Director/CEO James Adams welcomed the industry back together again in his opening remarks.
