PM Compaction/Tooling Seminar Concludes
It was another successful year for the PM Parts Compacting/Tooling Seminar. The seminar, held about every 18 months, dates back to 1989 and continues to educate a variety of people throughout the industry, mainly catering to powder metallurgy parts and product fabricators.
This year, the seminar attracted 40 attendees with backgrounds and experience levels ranging from entry-level engineer to experienced tool and die maker, with over half of the attendees reporting involvement in engineering. Other areas such as quality assurance, production, sales, and management were all represented by the attendees.
Some of the presentation topics this year included mechanical presses for high-volume compaction and design, and die-wall lubrication and warm compaction. This year's panel of experts provided a wealth of knowledge for the students, with a combined industry experience totaling over 250 years. Their expertise is a valuable tool for the attendees to obtain a broad range of information and an understanding of compacting and tooling. The course is specifically designed for those who want to expand their knowledge of compacting and tooling technology, enhance their opportunities to advance, and for those who are looking to deepen their understanding in this specialized area of powder metallurgy.
If you missed this seminar or one of the other MPIF courses and wish you hadn't, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for announcements of what's coming in 2018!
