National Science Foundation Grant for PM Conference
The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) is pleased to announce that, for the second year in a row, a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant will be provided to select students from U.S. colleges and universities to attend the POWDERMET2018 and AMPM2018 conferences in San Antonio, June 17–20. NSF Grant Awards will directly cover the full registration fee and hotel accommodation in double occupancy.
POWDERMET2018: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials and AMPM2018: Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy are co-located conferences that bring together more than 200 worldwide powder metallurgy (PM) professionals to present the latest research and developments in PM, particulate materials, and metal additive manufacturing. These conferences provide an opportunity for college students to network with industry leaders, present their own research, and learn from those already working in the industry.
Applicants are required to be from U.S. institutions, attend the entire conference, and participate at the conference as an author on a poster on engineering activities at their institution, and provide a 10-minute synopsis of the poster during a scheduled poster session. Recipients are responsible for the cost of their own transportation and meals outside of the included conference events.

MPIF is grateful to the National Science Foundation for its support of students to attend the POWDERMET2018 & AMPM2018 annual conferences. This support provides student participants with opportunities to exchange ideas with leading researchers and engineers from worldwide industrial and governmental facilities, as well as with students and faculty from both domestic and international universities. Student participants will learn the latest research areas and results in powder metallurgy fields of interest. These opportunities will not only improve the students' knowledge in the field, but also develop scientists and engineers who are ideally suited to create the next generation of designs in powder metallurgy and metal additive manufacturing that will push materials and manufacturing capabilities.
