New PM Video Series Launched

"Introducing Powder Metallurgy and the PM Industry," the first video in a series of four educational videos focused on PM, has been released by the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF). The video is hosted by industry leader John Engquist, FAPMI, past president of the Center for Powder Metallurgy Technology (CPMT), and covers a brief history of PM, followed by a discussion on market segments, common applications, the technical advantages of using PM, and a brief overview of PM processes.

The four-part series is based on the popular PickPM Day Seminar that has been presented to the end-user community over the last several years during the annual POWDERMET conference. The other videos in the series will cover conventional press-and-sinter PM, metal injection molding, and metal additive manufacturing. An isostatic pressing video is also in the early stages of development.

These videos will be distributed throughout 2017.
