Keynote Speaker Announced for WorldPM2020
Edwin Pope, principal analyst at IHS Markit has been selected as the keynote speaker for the global, co-located conferences WorldPM2020, AMPM2020, and Tungsten2020. From market-level volume impacts to powertrain and electrification trends, the outlook of the automotive industry and the potential cascading effects are numerous to the PM supply chain. During the Opening General Session on Sunday, June 28, 2020, Pope will discuss outlooks and trends for the global automotive market, propulsion system design, transmission design, electrification, and metal 3D printing within the automotive sector.
Program Preview
The full program for WorldPM2020, AMPM2020, and Tungsten2020 will be released soon. Expect a total of 130 packed sessions between all three conferences featuring speakers from 39 countries.
Events include:
- Metal AM Tutorial: Conducted by Emma White, Ames Laboratory, and Amy Elliott, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, this tutorial will provide basic information and guidance on the use of powders, including safety, handling and storage to maximize the quality of the powders and subsequent performance of the consolidated parts.
- Opening Night Reception: This reception will welcome attendees from all three conferences to Montréal. Sponsored by Rio Tinto Metal Powders.
- Opening General Session: A changeup from previous years, this session will feature keynote speaker Edwin Pope as well as the presentation of major industry awards, including the presentation of the Kempton H. Roll Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Randall M. German, FAPMI, and the newest APMI Fellow, Thomas W. Pelletiers, II.
- Design Excellence Awards Luncheon: The annual awards luncheon highlights the 2020 PM Design Excellence Award Winners and provided additional networking opportunities.
- Multiple Exhibit Hall Networking Luncheons: Enjoy extended exhibit hall hours. A buffet lunch will be held adjacent from the exhibit hall.
- PM Evening Alehouse: All registered delegates are invited to the exhibit hall for 90 minutes of uninterrupted networking while enjoying a glad of wine or a cold beer. Sponsored by the Powder Metallurgy Equipment Association and the Metal Powder Industries Federation.
- General Session: Global Industry Trends: Featuring a regional review of the PM industry in North America, Europe, and Asia, these presentations will be provided by the World Congress tripartite. Sponsored by AP&C, a GE Additive Company.
