LAM 2018 Conference Concludes

The Laser Institute of America (LIA) held their 10th Laser Additive Manufacturing (LAM) conference from March 27 to March 28, 2018, in Schaumburg, Illinois. This year’s successful conference focused on when, where, and how to use laser AM including design, materials, modelling, and manufacturing applications, and featured three keynote speakers:

• Rob Gorham, America Makes, National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining presented Smart Collaboration: A Public-Private approach to Advancing the Additive Manufacturing Industry.
• Xiaoyan Zeng, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, presented Laser Additive Manufacturing: Core Power to Promote Traditional Manufacturing Ability."
• Ehsan Toyserkani, University of Waterloo, presented National Additive Manufacturing Initiatives in Canada: Overview of Ongoing Laser-based Additive Manufacturing Projects.

The co-located Lasers for Manufacturing Exhibition (LME) showcased the latest developments in laser technology and provided networking opportunities.
