APMI International Names 2025 Fellows
APMI International’s most prestigious award recognizes APMI members for their significant contributions to the goals, purpose, and mission of the organization as well as for an elevated level of expertise in the technology, practice, or business of the industry. The 2025 Fellow Award recipients will receive elevation to Fellow status at PowderMet2025 / AMPM2025, June 15–18 in Phoenix.
The 2025 recipients are Christopher Adam, PMT and Dr. Ma Qian.
Christopher Adam, PMT, President, VALIMET, Inc.
Chris has led a diversified career working with graphite, iron, copper, and aluminum powders. Throughout his career, he has been committed to educating others on the importance and potential applications that can be achieved through powder metallurgy. This includes outreach and mentoring of high school and college age students. Chris has created and presented seminars on various industries that have adopted powder metallurgy. These outreach programs and workshops have played a pivotal role in sharing knowledge and experiences with diverse audiences and helping others succeed through his mentoring.
Dr. Ma Qian, Distinguished Professor, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology
Recognized for his outstanding contributions in the field of powder metallurgy (PM) and additive manufacturing (AM) of light metals and alloys, Ma’s work has significantly expanded the knowledge in these areas and has led to extended applications of PM and AM. He actively contributes to APMI and the broader PM and AM communities by initiating and organizing key conferences in these fields. Additionally, he has served on the APMI International Liaison Committee for nearly a decade highlighting his global engagement.
